The short version: GetBetter. collects only what it needs to run challenges, verify check-ins, and deliver rewards. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
1. Who We Are
GetBetter. ("GetBetter," "we," "us," or "our") is a challenges, rewards, and social platform for boutique fitness studios and their members. Our app is available on iOS. Our registered contact is nickyshanker@getbetterbrand.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the app.
Information you provide:
- Name and email address when you create an account
- Profile photo (optional)
- Studio or instructor affiliation
- Payment or gift card redemption details (processed by third-party providers; we do not store full card numbers)
Information collected automatically:
- Location data — used solely to verify geo check-ins at studio locations. We collect a one-time location ping per check-in attempt and do not continuously track your location.
- Check-in activity, challenge participation, and reward history
- Device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting
- Crash logs and performance diagnostics
3. How We Use Your Information
- To verify studio attendance via geo check-in
- To track and display challenge progress and leaderboards
- To issue and manage GetBetter Bucks (GBB) reward balances
- To fulfill gift card rewards from our brand partners
- To show your activity to friends you follow (you control your visibility settings)
- To send transactional notifications (check-in confirmed, reward earned, challenge ending soon)
- To improve the product based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns
- To respond to your support requests
4. Location Data
Location access is required for geo check-in verification. We request "When In Use" location permission — we do not access your location in the background. Each check-in uses a single location reading to confirm you are within range of the studio. We do not store precise coordinates long-term; we store only a boolean confirmation that the check-in was verified.
5. Social Features
GetBetter. includes an opt-in social feed where members can share check-ins, photos, and reactions with friends. You control what you share. You can set your profile to private at any time in Settings. Content you post to the social feed may be visible to other users of the app.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Brand reward partners — when you redeem a gift card, we share only the information required to fulfill the reward (e.g., email address for delivery). Partners may not use this for marketing without your consent.
- Studio instructors — instructors see aggregated attendance and challenge engagement data for their own classes. They do not see your personal profile unless you follow them.
- Service providers — we use third-party services for cloud infrastructure, crash analytics, and payment processing. These vendors are contractually bound to use data only to provide services to us.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud prevention purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt-out of non-essential communications

11. Third-Party Links
The app and website may contain links to third-party services (e.g., Starbucks, Lululemon). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
